Invite Wildlife Home

Butterflies are fun and easy to observe. Many are easy to attract to your garden, if you have the right plants.

Butterflies lay their eggs on particular plants (host plants) that newly hatched caterpillars require for nourishment. While adult butterflies nectar on a wide variety of flower, caterpillars can feed on only a few, or even just one, plant species.

You can help create an urban home for birds, bees and butterflies by adding some plants that wildlife prefers to your backyard. If your neighbors follow suit, you have the start of a pollinator pathway!
